The Project aims at building the capacity of CSOs in the rural areas of Armenia and Georgia. In the framework of the project, young civic activists, including those from minorities, were identified through different channels—Facebook, other social networks, a network of local persons, and our partners, who are working with youth in the regions, as well as in the capitals of Armenia and Georgia. Once the target groups were detected, they were invited to participate in workshops and other capacity-building activities. The target group of the Project was young civic activists from the regions, who are more active not in so-called “indirect activities” (implementation of seminars, pieces of training, workshops, and monitoring), but in direct ones: who actively advocate for their own rights while being often under pressure, bring burning issues on the policy agenda at local and national levels and try to contribute as much as they can.
The total budget of the project is €87,680.00, of which Visegrad International Fund’s financing is €74,420.00, and the own financial and in-kind contribution of “Free Citizen” CISC NGO and “Multinational Georgia” public movement (PMMG) is €13,245.00.
