“Free Citizen” Civic Initiatives Support Center has launched the implementation of project V4 for Youth Entrepreneurship in the Regions of Armenia. On February 11, 2023, “Free Citizen” CISC organized a workshop for the Gegharkunik region’s youth in the framework of the Project on the Gavar Youth Center ground. This is the sixteenth of the 18 workshops, which are planned to organize in Armenia in the framework of the Project “V4 for Youth Entrepreneurship in the Regions of Armenia”. 33 young people, who are interested in starting their own business or are already engaged in entrepreneurship, participated at the event.
The aim of the project is to develop the capacity of young people in the regions of Armenia to start and develop new businesses, as well as to raise their awareness of European institutions, institutions and their programs in Armenia, including the European Union, Council of Europe, Eastern Partnership, Visegrad-4 format.
The project reacts to the problem of the internal brain drain in Armenia regarding the youth that is leaving regions (marzes) for the capital – Yerevan. The project has the ambition to contribute to the improvement of living conditions, more opportunities for young people in marzes through developing their basic business skills, including in the accounting, raising their awareness on the taxation and business regulations in Armenia, environment—recycling, waste management, waste clean-ups, European programs on business development, and motivating them for establishing their own start-ups.
During the training, the participants presented their business ideas. The best of them will receive special prizes at the end of the program. More active participants will be invited to participate at the Spring School in Aghveran and Youth Conference in Yerevan: both this events will take place on April-May next year.
At the end of the event, the participants met with Social Entrepreneur Artush Khachatryan, the founder of “Sareri bariq”/”The mountains’ good”/ SE in Vardenik, asked questions about starting and running a business, problems and difficulties.
