Training dedicated to the development of business capabilities of young people in Vanand

26 June 2022

“Free Citizen” Civic Initiatives Support Center is continuing the implementation of project V4 for Youth Entrepreneurship in the Regions of Armenia. On June 26, 2022, “Free Citizen” CISC organized a workshop for the Armavir region’s Vanand community youth in the framework of the Project. This is the fifth of the 18 workshops, which are organized in Armenia in the framework of the Project “V4 for Youth Entrepreneurship in the Regions of Armenia”. The aim of the project is to develop the capacity of young people in the regions of Armenia to start and develop new businesses, as well as to raise their awareness of European institutions, institutions and their programs in Armenia, including the European Union, Council of Europe, Eastern Partnership, Visegrad-4 format.

The project reacts to the problem of the internal brain drain in Armenia regarding the youth that is leaving regions (marzes) for the capital – Yerevan. The Project has the ambition to contribute to the improvement of living conditions, and more opportunities for young people in marzes through developing their basic business skills, including in accounting, raising their awareness on the taxation and business regulations in Armenia, environment—recycling, waste management, waste clean-ups, European programs on business development, and motivating them for establishing their own start-ups.

28 young civic activists from Vanand community of the Armavir region participated in the workshop. During the workshop, it was also discussed the issues, which have been identified by the participants as more relevant for the Youth of their city.
